Piece by piece

Grandma told me a story once

That God created hearts like jigsaw puzzles

Patiently putting all the pieces together

Till they had a rhythm of its own.

Every heart was different.

Some take minutes to win.

Others have a few missing pieces

And then some need a lifetime of patience.

I remember looking at her

with bright eyes and an ignited curiosity

with more questions filling my head than answers.

“Those fragile little pieces carrying the weight of the world.

won’t they easily break?”

She Smiled and answered.

“And again can be built from scratch if you have what it takes.”
